FORMAL STATEMENT

Clarification and Formal Statement Regarding the Reported Adverse Reaction Following Medical Aesthetic Treatment in Korea

Woh Medical Co., Ltd. (“Woh Medical”), as the duly authorized master distributor of Juvelook in Taiwan, has long been committed to introducing high-quality and safe medical devices that comply with the regulations of Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare.

In response to recent media reports concerning a Taiwanese consumer who experienced post-treatment complications after receiving Juvelook treatment in Korea, and in order to maintain order in Taiwan’s medical aesthetics market, clarify the facts, and protect the lawful business reputation of the Company, Woh Medical hereby issues the following formal statement:

1. This incident is an individual overseas medical dispute and is entirely unrelated to the Taiwanese distributor or the Juvelook brand in Taiwan

Based on the information currently available, this medical dispute arose from a consumer’s independent decision to travel to a local clinic in Korea to receive medical treatment.

Woh Medical has received notice from the original manufacturer of Juvelook and understands that the Korean clinic involved is currently discussing follow-up arrangements with the consumer.

The source and formulation of the product administered, the preparation and dilution ratio of the injectable product, the techniques used by the treating physician, including the injection layer and depth, as well as the post-treatment care protocol, all fall within the scope of the medical procedures and management of the local Korean clinic.

Any medical dispute arising from this overseas medical treatment has no legal or business connection whatsoever with Woh Medical, as the Taiwanese distributor, or with any medical institution in Taiwan.

2. Products legally imported into Taiwan have undergone regulatory review, and original manufacturer training for physicians is strictly implemented

Juvelook is a legally marketed medical device approved by the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (“TFDA”) under the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Republic of China. Its safety and efficacy have undergone strict regulatory review.

No serious adverse events have been reported in Taiwan since its launch.

(1) Post-market safety monitoring

Since introducing and launching the product in Taiwan in June 2024, Woh Medical has continuously monitored its post-market safety in accordance with applicable laws and has cooperated with the competent authorities in adverse event reporting.

To date, no serious adverse events related to the product have been reported in the Taiwan market.

(2) Professional training for physicians in Taiwan

Physicians performing Juvelook treatments in Taiwan are required to complete comprehensive product training provided by the original manufacturer.

Physicians in Taiwan receive professional training in patient indication assessment, anatomical knowledge, injection techniques, and the management of complications. They also place strong emphasis on pre-treatment evaluation and post-treatment follow-up to help ensure treatment safety and quality.

3. Formal warning: Woh Medical will take legal action against the dissemination of false or misleading information

The outcomes and potential adverse effects of medical aesthetic treatments are closely related to the physician’s clinical experience, the patient’s individual condition, and the risks associated with cross-border medical care.

Overseas medical treatment may involve risks arising from differences in medical training systems between countries, difficulties in obtaining medical records, and complex procedures for determining liability.

Woh Medical hereby formally warns all media outlets, online social media platforms and forums, including Threads, Dcard, PTT, and Facebook, as well as medical aesthetics industry participants and individuals:

No party shall use this individual overseas medical incident involving a specific clinic to deliberately insinuate, associate, or disseminate false statements that may damage the business reputation of Juvelook. Nor shall any party use this incident to engage in improper or malicious competition.

Where any person or entity misleads the public, maliciously defames others, disseminates false information, or intentionally obscures the focus of the incident, thereby causing damage to the Company’s business reputation or actual economic loss, Woh Medical will collect evidence in accordance with the law and pursue all relevant persons and entities for civil and criminal liability to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Such liability includes, but is not limited to, offenses involving damage to business reputation and aggravated defamation. Woh Medical will also seek full compensation for all resulting damages.

4. Woh Medical urges consumers to recognize the cross-border medical risks associated with overseas medical aesthetic treatment

If delayed adverse reactions occur after a consumer returns to Taiwan, timely follow-up may be difficult.

Consumers are therefore advised to choose lawful medical aesthetic clinics approved by the Taiwanese government, verify that authentic products supplied by the original manufacturer are being used, and receive personal assessment and treatment from professional physicians in Taiwan who have completed original manufacturer training and certification.

This helps provide more comprehensive protection in terms of medical safety and quality.
